FCB and Colenso win at ORCA, but comedic trio steals the show with satirical analyses of ads

In contrast to the major advertising awards shows that are typified by large round tables, three-course meals and formal attire, the ORCA Awards, held last night at the Nathan Club in Auckland, was a stripped down affair that took a tongue-in-cheek look at the ads created by the six finalists. Over the course of the event, the organisers released a series of videos of radio personalities Bryce Casey, Guy Williams and Dave Fane sharing their often hilarious thoughts on the shortlisted ads.

Given that an insurance claim is equally undesirable for both the insurer and the insured, State Insurance has launched a new campaign that it hopes will ensure that Kiwi drivers don’t get to the stage where they have to deal with the unceremonious clang of metal colliding on the tarmac. The ‘motor services pack’ campaign, launched via Colenso BBDO on Easter Monday, gives State clients exclusive access to a range of deals at VTNZ, Z and Bridgestone via a specially designed app that can be downloaded from the insurance company’s website.

Colenso uses real surveillance footage in latest Burger King campaign

Adshel unveils Surf Life Saving NZ summer appeal poster

Adshel has unveiled a new summer appeal poster based on Colenso BBDO’s idea that won the Creative Challenge in 2012. The new poster was initially meant to employ DraftFCB’s winning concept from last year’s competition, but the agency could not complete the poster in time for the summer appeal. Fortunately, Running with Scissors (the agency that currently holds the Surf Life Saving account) stepped in to update Colenso’s concept.
