ANZ looks to the stars to connect Kiwis with Olympians

If you were wondering where that bright floodlight was coming from that was beaming up into Auckland’s night sky was last weekend, well look no further. It was merely ANZ, marking the launch of the next phase of its Olympic campaign, which has seen it release a brand new app where users can send Olympians messages through the stars (yes, you heard correctly) as well as another TVC by True promoting the app and creating anticipation for the Rio games, which kick off early next month.

Agencies have many ways of wooing clients. They wine and dine them. They try to win awards. They send out press releases to trade media. They try to destabilise the incumbents. They invest in fancy offices to create the perception of success should they visit. And they also show off their work, their strategy and their talent to online visitors. The agency website is basically a digital shopfront and it’s often seen as an indication of the type of work it might be able to do for clients. Many agencies are guilty of creating boring and/or unfunctional sites and regularly slipping into cliche. But there are some good ones out there. So here are a few of our local favourites.

Golden days as Gladeye and Method nab international digital accolades

Two Auckland-based digital creative agencies have flown the Kiwi flag at the 2012 Communicator Awards, with Gladeye taking home three golds for Moa Beer, Collette Dinnigan and the agency’s own portfolio website as well as another two silvers, and Method Studios winning gold for a custom Xbox Kinect Game for Smith&Smith that was aimed at insurance brokers.
