There’s plenty of action in the outdoor space at the moment, with yet more consolidation, a major new arrival and a continuing focus on developing digital out-of-home networks. The digital glow set to brighten: iSite announces new giant digital screen

Outdoor digital advertising has had a slow roll out in Auckland due to council regulations about visual impact and safety, and this means that Auckland doesn’t quite have the digital glow of New York’s cityscape just yet. However, outdoor digital advertising is gaining momentum in the Super City, and the Auckland Council is showing a willingness to engage with out-of-home media owners on the incorporation of new digital sites. Last night’s 26th edition of the annual NZ Direct Marketing Awards at Auckland’s Langham Hotel was a lavish affair, which was hosted by comedian Ben Hurley and the Marketing Association’s chief executive Sue McCarty, who recently resigned from her position. In total 41 different awards were handed out over the course of the event, and by the end of the night the attendees from Colenso BBDO/Proximity and iSite Media must’ve had tired legs due to the number of times they were called to the stage.
