Last night, the denizens of marketing donned their finest robes and descended on the Langham for a night of heavy drinking, trophy collecting and not paying attention to MC Te Radar. And while the story didn’t necessarily end as a fairytale for everyone, the pictures indicate that all those in attendance had a blast. What you are likely to find are a few Woodstock drinkers, who’ve seen some things in their day. In its first campaign since winning the Independent Liquor account earlier this year, Whybin\TBWA veered away from the traditional advertising trope of conventionally beautiful people to instead celebrate the folks who actually consume Woodies.

Charity art exhibition to celebrate adland’s escape artists

Advertising veteran and co-founder of Idealog David MacGregor has organised an exhibition of work by a collection of what he describes as “New Zealand’s faded advertising stars”. Dubbed Escape Artists, the exhibition will launch at the Depot Artspace in Devonport on 3 September, with a charity auction of works by the featured artists at 2.00pm.
