TBWA\NZ boosts strategic and client service with four new hires
TBWA\New Zealand has announced four senior hires across strategy and business management.
Joining the team are Haley Hetherington (planning director), Ellen Scholes (senior planner), Harriette Hanson (group business director) and Michael Lyons (senior business director).
Strategy powerhouse
Hetherington joins from Ogilvy London, where she led strategic thinking for Lloyds Bank and Google Pixel, following roles with The Monkeys, Proximity and The Clemenger Group. With a background spanning brand, CX and comms planning, Hetherington brings a rare ability to connect creativity to real-world business growth.
Scholes comes to TBWA after several years at BBH London, where she shaped brand and campaign strategy for Blackstone, Genentech and Volkswagen. She brings strategic rigour, a global perspective and a passion for turning big thinking into beautifully disruptive work.
Promising leaders
Hanson joins as group business director following six years at Grey London, where she was deputy head of account management. She’s led global campaigns for Coca-Cola, HSBC, Nestlé and Arla, and is known for her people-first leadership, creative excellence and ability to drive both growth and award-winning work.
Michael Lyons also steps in as group business director, joining from Special New Zealand, where he spent more than four years leading accounts including Entain and Contact. Prior to that, Lyons spent 2.5 years in London working across large integrated clients, giving him deep experience in brand transformation and client partnership.
Invest in top talent
TBWA\NZ CEO Catherine Harris says: “It’s been another year of strong growth and momentum for TBWA\New Zealand, which allows us to keep attracting and investing in top talent.
“These hires reflect our continued commitment to raising the bar across every part of the business. We’re thrilled to have Harriette, Michael, Haley and Ellen on board – their impact on our work, culture and clients is already being felt.”
Joseph Judd, TBWA\NZ head of strategy, adds: “Both Haley and Ellen bring sharp, complementary skills – and the same drive to make work that’s as effective as it is disruptive.
“Haley’s depth across brand and customer experience strengthens how we connect strategy and creativity across key clients. Meanwhile, Ellen’s global perspective adds fresh energy and ambition to the team. They’re both brilliant humans – and we’re lucky to have them.”
