The Sweetshop New Zealand and Australia welcomes Suzanne Kim

The Sweetshop has signed Korean-born Australian filmmaker Suzanne Kim for representation in Australia and New Zealand.

Renowned for her dynamic car commercials, striking sports films and emotionally resonant performances, Kim captures movement and narrative with a cinematic flair that makes every frame feel alive – making her an exciting addition to the roster, says The Sweetshop.

Named by Vogue Australia as part of the “New Class of Australian Female Directors To Know,” Kim’s portfolio spans Apple, Samsung, Hyundai, Jordan, Ford, Genesis and P&G. Her work has also been recognised at Cannes Lions, SXSW and The Clio Awards, among others.

A gem of a human being

Sweetshop NZ’s managing director and executive producer Ben Dailey says: “We’re always looking for directors who can bring both artistic precision and emotional truth to their work, and Suzanne embodies that perfectly. Her films have a pulse, they move people and she is also an absolute gem of a human being.”

On joining Sweetshop, Kim says: “I’ve long admired The Sweetshop, and since signing to the Asia roster, joining The Sweetshop just made sense. There’s a real sense of creative generosity, and that’s a pretty rare thing to find.”

Suzanne is now available for commercial, branded and short-form projects across Australia and New Zealand through The Sweetshop.
