Perion brings Programmatic DOOH to life with Auckland site tour
Programmatic digital out of home (pDOOH) platform Perion has hosted a site tour in Auckland, showcasing some of the best pDOOH locations across the city.
The tour welcomed around 40 clients, agencies and media owners. Attendees included representatives from major DOOH publishers such as LUMO, MediaWorks, JCDecaux, oOh!, Go Media, JOLT and Hyper. Top programmatic teams from Auckland’s leading media agencies, including OMG, Dentsu, GroupM and several independents also joined the event.

The full experience lasted around 90 minutes and covered a 15km loop around Auckland CBD. The route featured high-impact sites along Great South Road and Great North Road – prime areas with high traffic and strong visibility.
The tour wrapped up with drinks and nibbles at Bivacco on Auckland’s harbourfront, offering guests a relaxed setting to connect and unwind. “Our goal was to showcase the top DOOH inventory available via Perion’s platforms while bringing together the key players in the OOH ecosystem with publishers and agencies alike,” said Ash Houghton, Perion NZ sales VP.
“It offered a valuable opportunity to deepen knowledge of programmatic DOOH, foster connections and bring the media planning process to life by letting teams see the screens they work with daily in action.”

Highlight of the tour
According to Houghton, a standout moment came when they saw Perion creatives running in real-time across the screens as the bus passed by. “The surprise and excitement on our guests’ faces as our branding popped up was a real highlight and a powerful demonstration of the immediacy and impact of pDOOH.”
“The feedback was overwhelmingly positive,” she added. “Attendees found the event both informative and a valuable networking opportunity. Many also commented on how beneficial it was to experience the screens in real-world environments.”

The event left a lasting impression on guests. Hyper media director Chris Burton commented: “What a stellar job they’ve done capturing the day! Great memories.”
Spark performance strategist Claudine Gregg was equally impressed: “We had such a great time and can’t wait to book plenty more pDOOH!”
Other guests including OMD activation director Micaela Bos, JCDecaux NZ programmatic executive Sherratt Anna and Mediaworks head of programmatic Max Charnin also praised the tour and its hospitality.

Next stop: Sydney
With such strong feedback, Houghton and the Perion team are already planning for the next tour. “We’re bringing the site tour to Sydney on May 22, replicating the Auckland experience. Looking ahead, we’re considering making the tour an annual event to continue building community and showcasing the very best of programmatic DOOH in the market.”
