Spanish Lottery goes even bigger for Christmas

Alongside John Lewis, the Spanish Lottery has emerged as one of the superstars of Christmas advertising. The organisation’s annual spot has become an event, pulling in an audience from across the world and often striking hard at the viewer’s emotions with epic storytelling. 

This year, the company has outdone itself with a 20-minute short film that tells the story of an alien who comes to earth in human form and tries to assimilate into the culture of the Spanish capital. 


Developed by Leo Burnett Iberia, the spot was directed by Oscar-winning director Alejandro Amenábar.

This spot follows on from equally impressive, albeit shorter, efforts released by the Spanish Lottery over the last few years.
