Plastic Apple

Apple found plenty of success when it added some colour to its iPods. And while some think Steve Jobs would be rolling in his grave over the company’s shift to cheaper handsets, that’s where the company is headed after it announced the launch of the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S. And it’s released an ad via TBWA to promote its colourful models.

The song is Rill Rill by Sleigh Bells.

UPDATE:

And here’s another, less gooey ad.

And as Apple launches its new products, Microsoft has been forced to pull some decidedly cringey anti-iPhone online videos.

According to Fast Company, a Microsoft spokeperson admitted the campaign “was intended to be a lighthearted poke at our friends from Cupertino. But it was off the mark, and we’ve decided to pull it down.”

Samsung has taken the piss out of Apple acolytes well. Nokia’s Lumia is getting in on the act too. And Apple started the whole thing off with PC vs Mac. But Microsoft forgot to heed the first rule of parody attack ads: make it funny.
