The New Zealand Herald has announced the appointment of three new business journalists and several new columnists in an effort to bring more premium journalism to Kiwis.

Three new journalists, Kate MacNamara from Stuff, Jane Phare and Sam Hurley, and several new columnists, including former Finance Minister Steven Joyce and entrepreneurs Ben Kepes and Cecilia Robinson, have joined the Herald’s world-class business team.

The Business Herald team’s growth is a signal of faith towards its growing premium channel, a key driver of digital subscriptions since the launch 14 months ago.

“Today’s announcement reflects the commitment we made when we launched NZ Herald Premium – that our digital subscription service would support NZME’s commitment to a thriving news media industry in New Zealand,” says NZME CEO Michael Boggs.

“Our readers have told us they want more insight from people who know their way around the business world. The NZ Herald Business team has doubled down on its promise to deliver trusted, quality information to help Kiwis make more informed decisions for them, their families and their futures.”
