Mitre 10 campaign encourages lockdown DIY with #letterboxmakeover challenge

With the amount of free time on everyone’s hands at the moment, Mitre 10 has set out the #letterboxmakeover challenge for Kiwis to redesign their mailboxes using any materials they may have at home.

Since the challenge was announced last week, there has already been many letterboxes that have had a re-vamp and are pretty damn impressive. The challenge is also found on Facebook where winning entries can score a prize out of $5000 worth of Mitre 10 gift cards.

This week winners were chosen for categories like ‘best use of recycle goods’, ‘most likely to scare the postie’, and ‘outside the box thinking.’

Mitre 10 chief of customer marketing and inspiration, Jules Lloyd-Jones, says if DIY wasn’t a priority before lockdown, it now is for some.

“Our communities are having a lot of fun with the Mitre 10 Letterbox Makeover and we know from the multitude of social media comments that people are enjoying the creativity popping up around their neighbourhoods.”

Visit the Facebook page Facebook.com/Mitre10 and website https://www.mitre10.co.nz/letterboxmakeover for entry details, inspiration and information.
