AGM publications to shut up shop in Aotearoa

AGM’s publishing operations in Aotearoa will be closing on May 31, as announced by its owner Hubexo.

Those operations include Architecture NZ magazine, website ArchitectureNow and the Interior Awards.

The May/June 2026 issue of Architecture NZ will be the final issue after close to 40 years of publication, and there will be no 2026 Interior Awards, according to the announcement on ArchitectureNow.

The publishing company has played a role in supporting and showcasing New Zealand’s architecture and design community throughout the years it has been running.

Grateful for contribution

Hubexo writes in a memorandum that the decision comes as it shifts its investment and capability to core software and data solutions for the construction industry.

The company adds that it remains committed to the New Zealand design and construction industry.

Hubexo also acknowledges the contribution of both AGM and its stakeholders, writing the following in its statement: “We understand that this news will be significant for many of our stakeholders, including partners, clients, sponsors, judges, entrants, contributors and suppliers. We are genuinely grateful to all those who have contributed to and supported AGM over the years.”
