Restaurant booking app First Table has appointed Payper as its PR agency across Australia and New Zealand.
The partnership will see Payper manage First Table’s earned media strategy and builds its profile in the hospitality sector in New Zealand and around the world.
First Table connects more than 3.5 million diners with over 4,300 restaurants across New Zealand, Australia and the UK. The platform rewards diners for booking the first table of the night with 50% off the food bill, while helping restaurants fill off-peak tables at no cost.
A natural extension of the team
First Table founder Mat Weir says the partnership is a natural fit.
“We’ve been really impressed with Payper – not just with the results they’ve delivered for other startups and tech companies, but with how quickly they’ve understood our business and what we’re building.
“Hospitality is a fast-moving industry and we’ve got some ambitious growth plans ahead, so having a team that genuinely gets our brand and moves quickly with us is important. They already feel like a natural extension of the First Table team.”
Backing ambitious Kiwis
Payper co-founder Adrien Taylor says: “We love hospitality and we know the First Table story well – having worked with Mat in the very early days of the business, landing coverage as the platform launched across New Zealand.
“We’re thrilled to be teaming up with Mat and the First Table team again. There’s nothing we love more than backing ambitious New Zealanders who are taking on the world, and First Table is exactly that – a Kiwi startup that’s built something genuinely world-class.”
