Stuff Digital welcomes Saj Patel to senior commercial team

Stuff Digital has appointed a new head of investment and digital initiatives, growing its senior commercial team following the recently finalised partnership with Trade Me

Former digital sales Manager at NZME and commercial director at The Spinoff Group Saj Patel takes on the new role from this month, combining strategic investment leadership with innovative digital solutions for partners. He will report to commercial director Jaana Collins.

Beginning his career at FCB before moving into publishing in London, Patel has spent the past two years at Stuff Group as group sales manager – digital. Collins says this new hybrid role reflects his strong commercial relationships and vision for the largest digital news audience in the country.

“Saj has a wealth of experience in New Zealand’s digital media landscape and has driven tangible solutions across Stuff Group working closely with our commercial and editorial teams,” she says.

“Over the past six months Saj has really leaned into the investment space and delivered some great, mutually beneficial, results which our partners have welcomed.

“He has a fantastic reputation in the market and has maintained this through a time of real disruption.”

Next phase of evolution

Patel says media is evolving at a rapid pace and ensuring partners connect with New Zealanders through innovative solutions and new technology will be a huge part of the investment role direction for Stuff Digital.

“Over the past 12 months, we’ve strengthened our focus on data-driven outcomes and grown our commercial ecosystem, helping to redefine what’s possible for our advertisers and audience alike,” he says.

“I’m excited to help lead this next phase of Stuff’s evolution and work with our partners to drive sustainable commercial success.”
