Special promotes Gareth Rice to creative director

Special is proud to announce the promotion of Gareth Rice to creative director.

During his three-year tenure with Special, Rice has consistently helped raise the level of craft within the agency, with the ability to step in and shepherd the creative at any point in the process.

He’s been behind some of Special’s highly awarded work, including Cliché Codes for Uber Eats and Plastic Pile of Sh!T for Better Packaging Co, as well as launching Kiwibank’s most recent chapter of its brand platform, ‘This is Kiwi,’ and Fisher Funds’ ‘Make the most of your money’ brand platform launch.

Keep the momentum going

The promotion marks a new chapter in his two-decade-long creative career, having developed highly effective campaigns in Australia, New Zealand, London and the Netherlands markets.

Lisa Fedyszyn, Special chief creative officer, says: “Gareth isn’t only the best dressed in the office, but his international pedigree and eye for his craft have made him an irreplaceable asset to Special. We’re so happy to see him grow into this next chapter of his career and continue to take the agency and his client work from strength to strength.”

“I’ve spent my career at some of the world’s top agencies, but Special is one of those few that constantly surprises,” says Rice. “There is a restless energy to constantly outdo our best work and a culture that encourages creativity, so I’m excited to be stepping into this new role and keep the momentum going.”
