Val Morgan to send four young lions to Cannes

As part of its partnership with the New Zealand Cannes Lions, Val Morgan is giving young ad hotshots an opportunity to represent New Zealand in the Young Lions competition at the 61st Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity being held between 15 and 21 June.

After a preliminary competition in New Zealand, Val Morgan will send two teams, each consisting of a pair of talented young Kiwis, to the prestigious advertising awards festival to showcase their work in front of an international audience.

One team will compete in the media competition, while the second will vie for an accolade in the film category.

In addition to paying festival registration fees, Val Morgan will also cover the travel and accommodation expenses of the selected quartet.

But in order to get their hands on any of these perks, Young Lions entrants will first have to impress during the local competition that has been moulded on those that occur at the official festival in Cannes. After receiving a brief, the media teams will have 24 hours to respond while the film teams will only have 48 hours to produce a commercial.

“We are very excited to be holding two Young Lions competitions this year, says Val Morgan sales director Suzie Lamborn. “It’s an incredible opportunity for the best young minds in our media and creative industries to win to compete on the world stage at Cannes against their global peers at the Young Lions competition.”

Those interested in entering the competition have until 6 March and to do so on the Val Morgan website
