‘Strong entry’ sees Wānaka PR consultancy Scope win at PRINZ
Wānaka’s Scope Communications has won the best Small to Medium PR Consultancy in Aotearoa at the PRINZ Awards on May 28.
Remarks from the independent judging panel commended Scope’s “strong entry that shows strategic success and adaptability in challenging times.”
Built for change
Scope Communications managing director Celia Crosbie says the consultancy works hard to continuously challenge the status quo in an industry that’s experiencing huge change.
“As former journalists, it’s been very difficult to watch the media industry in crisis – in particular over the past 18 months. Journalism and PR are inextricably linked – and ultimately, what happens in media will have implications for PR.
“At Scope we are asking ourselves what the future of news looks like and we’re experimenting with innovative solutions that meet the needs of our clients and the needs of a stretched media environment,” Crosbie adds.
Proven impact
With its 12th anniversary coming up next month, the agency has been supporting clients across a range of industries throughout New Zealand for the past decade.
Part of the entry required the submission of three case studies, demonstrating evidence of the consultancy’s success with client projects.
Scope submitted case studies on Royalburn Station’s launch of Swifty beer, helping Southern Lakes Sanctuary achieve its financial goals through brand awareness. And a PR colab with tech giant Apple to tell the story of AJ Hackett Bungy NZ’s new photo capture software innovation, EpicShot.
A testament to the team
Scope received gold for the same category in 2022 and silver in 2024.
To receive the top prize again this year is a testament to the hard-working team, striving to achieve the best results for all clients, says Crosbie.
“Our goal is to be a nationally-regarded communications consultancy that achieves positive, lasting impact for our clients and communities through innovation and best-practise.
“Receiving this recognition – especially alongside other consultancies with a longstanding record of being the best in the business – is a fantastic accomplishment.”
