Independent agency Rise & Shine has been appointed to launch Fujifilm New Zealand’s global experiential retail concept in Auckland.
The House of Photography, which opened on May 7, is described as a creative hub, where people can test the latest Fujifilm imaging technology, while accessing professional services including printing, film development and studio hire.
The space also features workshop areas for public sessions and a rotating gallery programme showcasing local photographers.
It opened to the public from May 8 and is located at Fujifilm’s headquarters in Rosedale.
A destination for creativity
Originally launched in London’s Covent Garden, the House of Photography has since rolled out across international cities including Hong Kong, Seoul, Barcelona and Sydney.
The Auckland site is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere and the second largest in the world.
Rise & Shine has been engaged to drive launch strategy and communications, positioning the space as a destination for content creation, storytelling and hands-on engagement.
Fujifilm’s general manager of imaging solutions New Zealand Peter Bonisch says the project represents a unique opportunity to bring a globally proven concept to a local audience in a way that resonates culturally.
“This is about creating a space where technology and creativity meet. It’s not just about selling cameras, it’s about giving people a place to experiment, learn and create, whether they’re professionals, enthusiasts or memory makers,” he says.
