818 grows team and announces new team structure
Auckland-based publicity agency 818 has today announced a refreshed team structure and new hire, introducing dedicated streams across its key areas of expertise: music, touring and exhibition, major events and trade, and screen.
The restructure recognises 818’s ongoing growth and reflects its position as one of Aotearoa’s leading entertainment and experience publicity agencies, representing many of the country’s most exciting live events, festivals, music, touring and screen projects.
Building the next chapter
818’s managing director and founder Chris Henry says: “As 818 continues to grow, this new structure allows us to further strengthen our specialist approach across the industries we know best. I’m incredibly proud of the team we’ve built, everyone brings so much expertise, energy and creativity to the work. It’s exciting to be evolving in a way that supports our clients and the next chapter of 818.”
Bex Martelletti, group head of publicity and head of music, touring and exhibition leads campaigns across some of Aotearoa’s most dynamic live experiences, supported by lead publicist Morgan Ellis. Together, they are driving major campaigns for projects including Live at the Domain, Splore, Other’s Way Festival, Rhythm and Vines, and Auckland Live’s ‘A Christmas Carol’.

Kate Jones, head of major events and trade, and lead publicist Antonia Aimer drive 818’s major events and trade stream, delivering large-scale press and tastemaker campaigns for iconic experiences such as the ASB Classic, ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix | Auckland, Te Ahurei Toi o Tāmaki Auckland Arts Festival, Mānuka Phuel SYNTHONY Festival, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and Mānuka Phuel Chasing the Fox.

Cynthia Monardez heads 818’s screen stream, with Rafe Macdonald joining the screen team as lead publicist. Rafe joins 818 from No Sad Cowboys, where he worked as a talent manager and brings strong industry knowledge and relationships across the screen sector. The team’s recent work includes the breakout success of local feature Pike River, alongside communications and campaigns for BRAVO and HAYU and the upcoming ‘God Bless You Mr Kopu’ for production house Velvet Moss, which is currently filming in Tāmaki Makurau.
Founded in 2014, 818 has built a reputation for delivering world-class campaigns across entertainment, live events and culture. With a new team structure in place, the agency is set for another standout year ahead.
