Yet another top accolade for Special Group

If you’re one of the other creative agencies in New Zealand this new is probably getting a little old – yet another major awards win for Special Group – this time at the Campaign Asia Agency of the Year Awards.

The New Zealand agency with offices in Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney and L.A. capped off an incredible 2020 with multiple award wins at the Campaign Asia Agency of the Year Awards – where they were crowded NZ Creative Agency of the Year, just a week after winning the same title at the B&T Awards in Sydney.

The awards acknowledge creative excellence, reward effectiveness, celebrate talent measures, thought-leadership, innovation, culture and values, as they recognise the very best all-round performers from around the globe. The awards are also well scrutinised with all judges decisions being tabulated and verified by PwC.

Special also won AUS/NZ Independent Agency of the Year and AUS/NZ Integrated Agency of the Year as well as Best Culture in AUS/NZ. Whilst Special Group Australia won Australian Creative Agency of the Year.

In addition the agency dominated the ‘People of the Year’ categories – winning 4 of the 6 awards in total.

Special’s founder and CEO Tony Bradbourne was named Australia/New Zealand Agency Head of the Year, Storm Day won Australia/New Zealand Agency Account Person of the Year and Special’s Head of Strategy Rory Gallery won Australia/New Zealand Strategic Planner of the Year. Special’s New Business team were named the best in Australasia.

Special’s partnership with Tourism New Zealand, which produced New Zealand’s most awarded and effective campaign of the year in ‘Good Morning World’, has also been recognised winning AUS/NZ Agency Marketer Partnership of the Year.

Tourism New Zealand Marketing Director Brodie McLeish deservedly won Australian/New Zealand Marketer of the Year with 100% Pure New Zealand winning Australian/New Zealand Brand of the Year. 

DDB won NZ Digital Agency of the Year & AUS/NZ Social Media Agency of the Year, and Adhesive PR won Best Culture and Talent Development Program of the Year (across ANZ). OMD and PHD tied with silver each for NZ Media Agency of the Year, Mango received a Silver for NZ PR Agency of the Year as did Motion Sickness for AU/NZ Boutique Agency of the Year and Production Company of the Year.
