Winner reaction: 2021 IAB New Zealand Digital Advertising Awards

Winners of the 2021 IAB New Zealand Digital Advertising Awards were announced during the virtual show hosted by Hayley Sproull last week, which can be viewed here.

There were 56 winners, across five Award Categories, who took away a total of 29 Silvers and 27 Gold Awards.  

Agency of the Year, sponsored by Google, was awarded to MBM for the third year in a row, for their 2021 entry Rollercoaster Year: How a New Agency Strategy Delivered MBM Digital Growth.

In addition to the Agency of the Year title, MBM also picked up Golds for: Best Use of Social – Griffin’s, Bikkie Elections, and Best Use of Data, Campaign Measurement and Optimisation – Trade Me Motors, Getting Under the Hood of Car Buyer Value.

Emily Isle, Chief Digital Officer, MBM says: “We are thrilled to have Gold and Silver recognition across a range of amazing clients and categories! Best in Show, sponsored by TVNZ, was awarded to Electoral Commission – Voter Concierge (FCB New Zealand and the Electoral Commission). This standout entry won 3 Golds and a Silver. FCB New Zealand finished with a total of 15 Awards – 7 Golds and 8 Silvers on the night.

With these wins, FCB becomes the most awarded agency for the third year running, also securing Best in Show back-to-back in 2020 and 2021.

Service to the Industry was Awarded to Rhys Heron, IAB New Zealand Board member and former Chair, and Managing Director, Mi9.
