The Spinoff claims top spot for audience engagement in NZ media

The Spinoff is reporting a standout first quarter as Aotearoa’s most engaged media platform.

According to Nielsen data, The Spinoff’s Q1 financial year (April-June 2025) recorded the highest average session time nationwide at 14.3 minutes, driven by 5.44 million page views.

In June, the platform led the market with an average session length of 10.6 minutes across all age groups.

Among the 15-39 demographic, The Spinoff also held the top spot with an average of 4.4 minutes per session, demonstrating its strong connection with younger audiences.

The Spinoff CEO Amber Easby says: “These results reflect our team’s relentless focus on creating content that matters to New Zealanders.

“We’re proud to see audiences not just showing up, but staying engaged.”
