Pity the fools who aren’t down with Gigatown

Gigatowners trying to be crowned the winners of Chorus’ initiative to grant speedy internet to one lucky region are showing their creative sides as the competition hots up.

The contest got its first meme from #gigatownporirua with nice casting of The A-Team hero Mr T in a tweet from James Mitchell (@mickeyangelo). That town’s also created its own version of the Hollywood sign, while Dunedinites were giving away chocolate to further their efforts.

With creative efforts like this, Chorus might be hoping wholesale copper broadband prices come in at a level that will allow them to stick around long enough for the year-long Gigatown competition to run its course.
