Omnicom Media Group launches Hearts & Science in New Zealand

Data-driven marketing agency Hearts & Science has launched its New Zealand office this week with Jane Stanley named its CEO.

The move follows the agency’s recent launch in Australia.

Hearts & Science will sit alongside OMD and PHD in Omnicom Media Group’s stable of brands as it’s data and customer experience driven marketing agency.

Hearts was first launched in North America in April 2016 and has since established a global foothold of 26 offices around the world including New York, London, Tokyo, Toronto, Dubai, Sydney and Melbourne.

The capabilities offered by Hearts & Science will help deliver against New Zealand clients’ evolving needs around automation, audience development, customer experience design, measurement and brand safety to mention but a few.

At its helm, Stanley is stepping into the CEO role. She was previously managing director of Resolution, Annalect and OMD Programmatic (all existing businesses of OMG).

Stanley joins Nigel Douglas and Nikki Grafton in reporting directly into Peter Horgan, OMG CEO of Australia and New Zealand.

Commenting on the appointment, Peter Horgan said: “Under Jane’s leadership, our data and technology capability represents the gold standard for depth and capability in the region. With her combined expertise in business and brand strategy, data and analytics, technology and agency management, she is more than capable of translating the global Hearts & Science success story into the New Zealand market.”

Stanley believes that with the aim of creating more seamless customer communication experiences, the mission is to leave a positive mark on the industry.

“The Hearts & Science proposition has always held great appeal to me. The ‘Heart’ is focused on respecting that today’s consumers are super smart and brands need to evolve with their changing needs rather than just push consistent messages. The ‘Science’ is about digging deeper into the data for actionable insights that build individual profitable relationships at scale. All delivered through smart technology choices that are appropriate to each individual brand.”

Hearts will launch with TheMarket as its foundation client. TheMarket is an online shopping marketplace offering shoppers access to 1500 brands, within a curated lifestyle shopping experience.

Chris Daley, currently head of analytics for Annalect, will become managing partner for Hearts & Science. He brings a wealth of analytical, adtech and martech understanding to the team as well as having extensive media agency experience.

Daley and Stanley will be also joined by Megan Smith at a senior level who will become chief client officer. Smith has extensive media experience having worked previously at OMD, Carat and TVNZ.
