Local and vocal: Go Media goes big to thank essential workers

Go Media are thanking essential workers during lockdown period with supportive screen messages.

Although the majority of us are in lockdown due to Covid-19, there are still a proportion of Kiwis who are putting themselves at risk to be there for us as an essential service.

From supermarket workers to dairy truck drivers, nurses to couriers, there are many that deserve recognition. As a display of gratitude, Go Media has chosen to push messages of support to those in essential services using outdoor screens around the country.

“Where we have a screen, and an essential service business of significance is in close proximity, we’re giving them a specific shout-out,” says Go Media general manager, Simon Teagle.

The company said in a social media post on LinkedIn,

“Given we have some spare capacity on our nationwide digital screen network, Go Media has opted to push some messages of support and gratitude on behalf of all New Zealanders to those in essential services.

“Those who are still driving about (along with supermarket shoppers) but putting their own health on the line as they keep our country functioning in these times. Where we have a screen, and essential service business of significance is in close proximity, we’re giving them a specific ‘shout-out’ too.”
