The fast-food chain appears to be stepping beyond the its greased-up chicken menu and into beauty products with KFC Hong Kong creating edible nail polish in two flavours: Original and Hot & Spicy.
As seen by the photos below, the stunt isn’t a prank. The fried chicken giant teamed up with Ogilvy & Mather and food technologists to bring its “Finger lickin’ good” tag line to life.
“To use, consumers simply apply and dry like regular nail polish, and then lick—again and again and again,” the brand said in a statement.
Ogilvy creative director John Koay told Adweek the nail polish “recipe” was designed to hold the flavour, as well as dry with a glossy coat like a normal nail polish.
“This campaign is designed to be intriguing and fun to increase excitement around the KFC brand in Hong Kong,” Koay said.
If you’re keen to get your hands on a bottle, the nail polish has been teased on social media but hasn’t been released to the masses – yet.
