Hot shop hotspots: Y&R beams out a unique recruitment signal at the Beacons

Whether it’s QR codes aimed at vetting tattoo artists, Goodby Silverstein’s work4rich.com, or BBH’s take on graduate recruitment, those in the persuasive arts often walk their talk and try to create interesting recruitment campaigns. And Y&R Media did just that last night at The Beacons with some WiFi jiggery pokery.

Y&R Media is currently hunting for new staff after a number of new business wins (including the likely arrival of Vodafone in the near future). So, in a room full of the country’s best media people, it created multiple WiFi hotspots so that when attendees searched for a signal, they were pointed in the direction of Nicky Greville, Y&R Media’s general manager.

So did they get any bites?

“Yes, a couple,” says Greville.

Speaking of using WiFi creatively, here’s a few other ‘punderful names‘. And a few more from Reddit users here
