Google is celebrating its 18th birthday in typical fashion, releasing a Doodle. However, you would be forgiven if you missed the party because the media juggernaut has a habit of changing the date.
It appears Google doesn’t know when its birthday is, as a birthday themed doodle has appeared on the site on 7, 8, 26 and most recently 27 September over the years.
In 2002, it celebrated its fourth birthday on 27 September, before switching the date to 8 September for its fifth, 7 September for its sixth and 26 September for its seventh birthday in 2005.
And while 27 September appears to have stuck since its birthday in 2006, none of the dates coincide with the day it was founded on – 4 September 1998.
