Former FQ editor launches Ensemble

The former editor of Fashion Quarterly (FQ) Zoe Walker Ahwa alongside Rebecca Wadey have launched their own fashion website, Ensemble.

Ensemble is a fashion website with a focus on supporting the local fashion and creative industries through change and tempering evocative imagery with a commercial realism.

Ensemble has also created its own membership program which will allow readers to financially support the journalism while receiving exclusive benefits, discounts and access to some of New Zealand’s leading fashion designers and brands.

“No one could accuse us of being risk averse,” says Rebecca. “But we believe in the value proposition of the creative arts and fashion industries in Aotearoa, and in the commercial viability of female-led storytelling in this country”.

“We believe traditional media models are broken”, adds Zoe, “but that by connecting with our readers on a direct level we can have a blissful and mutually beneficial relationship with them”.
