The first shortlists for the 2019 Cannes Lions have been announced and among the finalists are FCB, Colenso BBDO, Clemenger BBDO, and Special Group.
Clemenger BBDO is well represented on the lists with its ‘Belted Survivors‘ campaign for NZ Transport Agency making the shortlist four times in the Print and Publishing category, and eight times in the Outdoor category.
Alongside ‘Belted Survivors’, Special Group’s ‘Shark Bait’ campaign for Uber Eats has two mentions in shortlists for the Outdoor category.
Meanwhile, Colenso BBDO will be hoping to convert in the Design category, as the Kupu app for Spark made the shortlist.
The agency’s ‘SelfieStix‘ campaign for Mars is a finalist in the Health and Wellness category, alongside FCB’s ‘Undercover crosswords‘ campaign for the Ministry of Social Development/Office for Seniors.
In the Film Craft category, further Spark campaigns made a shortlist, with its ‘Wedding‘ and ‘Generation Voice’ ads both made the list twice for Finch.
Finch worked with Colenso on the campaigns and Colenso BBDO got a shoutout in the Film Craft category, with ‘I’m drinking for you‘ campaign for DB Breweries making the shortlist.
Also announced were the shortlists for the Pharma, Titanium, Innovation and Glass categories. New Zealand agencies did not feature.
