Ballance and Wave Agency spotlight Kiwi farmers in Make it Count campaign
Ballance Agri-Nutrients and Wave Agency have launched the next chapter of Make it Count.
This year’s campaign tells real farmer stories through a series of six short-form vignettes, which all come together as a 30” brand film.
The vignettes capture how Kiwi farmers are navigating the challenges of modern farming by making considered decisions, backed by Ballance’s science, data and expert advice.
What makes this campaign stand apart is that it isn’t Ballance doing the talking. The campaign was deliberately designed so that farmers could hear directly from their peers, people facing the same challenges and making the same tough decisions, says Ballance.
“Farmers are looking for practical, peer-led advice, real farmer voices carry far more weight than traditional messaging.” says Craig Parker, creative director at Wave.

Farmers’ trusted partner
Wave Agency led the creative for the first time this year, bringing a refreshed approach to the campaign’s second instalment. The result is a suite of content that’s helpful to farmers and reinforces Ballance’s role as a trusted partner.
The integrated campaign is rolling out across Sky Sport, print, radio, digital and social, with a dedicated microsite to host the content series.
“On the farm, every decision comes down to the same things: increasing productivity, optimising spend, boosting efficiency and making the season a good one,” says Jason Minkhorst, Ballance’s general manager customer.
“What farmer’s value is advice, insights and solutions that help them spread nutrients smarter, plan ahead, so they’re more efficient, and have access to the right tools.
“We really appreciate the work Wave has done in this campaign to recognise the work farmers are doing and making sure they know Ballance is here to support them as a trusted partner.”
