Calling all emerging leaders: Yahoo’s talent building programme is back

Yahoo has opened nominations to its industry-leading talent programme, Yahoo Academy.

The refreshed programme returns under a new name but the outcome remains the same – provide the next generation of industry leaders with exclusive opportunities to build their personal brand and accelerate their careers.

Nominations are now open to rising talent from across the Australian and New Zealand digital industry. Applicants must have one to seven years experience and may self-nominate with senior endorsement, or senior leadership may directly nominate talent.

The selected ‘Class of 2022’ will attend a two day event in Sydney on June 14-15. The event features inspiring speakers, personal brand building workshops, mentoring, valuable networking opportunities and culminates in a pitch-off competition that sees the top team sent to Advertising Week New York 2022.

Rachel Page, General Manager of Sales, ANZ at Yahoo, comments: “It’s no secret that our industry is facing a talent crisis, so it’s never been more important to invest in the next generation of leaders.

“Yahoo Academy has become an incubator for talent. It’s our way of nurturing rising stars whilst giving back to the community. We always have such a range of talent passing through the program, I can’t wait to meet the Class of 2022.”

Penny Shell, Chief Product Officer at OMD Australia adds: “In our ever-changing industry, it’s so important to prioritise learning. That’s why the Yahoo Academy has been  invaluable to OMD. It has helped our young rising stars develop their skills, meet others in the industry, and access some incredible opportunities. I encourage leaders from across the board to put your talent forward and take advantage of this opportunity. Yahoo does all the heavy lifting for you, and your people come out of it much more confident and educated.”

Yahoo will once again open up the popular virtual masterclass portion of the Yahoo Academy to the entire industry for free. Past speakers have included Cindy Gallop, Claire Salvetti, Maz Farrelly, and Ivan Markman. 2022 speakers will be announced at a later date.

Nominations close Friday, April 1.
