Better networks, worse flirting

AT&T is tapping the rich creative vein that is the tech help geek with its new TVC that tells you why a good network should matter to you. “We’re fine tuning the small cells that improve coverage, capacity and quality of the network,” Frank the geek tells the office worker.

His colleague Charlie helpfully translates that to the fact she’ll be able to post updates from the staffroom. The geeks are a visual stereotype in thick-framed glasses and shirts buttoned all the way up. Their flirting is just as silly: “Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?” the geek asks the office worker. Despite that, the compliment appears to work.
