APN Outdoor has Auckland Council approval to add four digital billboards around the inner city to its existing site at 350 Queen St.
From launch in August it will offer the five screens to advertisers as a network, with six rotations of eight seconds each up for grabs. The additional sites will be Remuera Rd and Broadway, Symonds St and Newton Rd, Ponsonby Rd and Great North Rd and Stanley St in Parnell.
The combined daily audience reach of the billboard netowrk will be over 206,000, the company says. It says it’s working with architects Jasmax to install the LED technology with architectural designs to integrate the billboards into their surroundings.
“We worked closely with architect firm Jasmax to create design elements specific to each site that will enhance their overall visual appeal,” says Jamie Cameron, APN Outdoor’s commercial director. APN Outdoor.
“The city is very mindful of urban design matters, including unsightly clutter, so it was important we helped to improve the amenity values as part of our digital strategy.”
APN Outdoor also has extensive plans for billboards at Auckland Airport once it starts its media partnership there in November. That includes refurbishment of every screen inside and outside, with two large screens outside and three or four dozen inside, of varying sizes, says general manager Phil Clemas.
Next year it will look at additional roadside sites in central Auckland, he says. Advertisers that have so far made use of the Queen St billboard include BMW, NZ Lotteries, Holden, Freeview and Coke.
