Aegis puts last piece in the brand puzzle with Isobar launch

Aegis Media will bring its digital brand Isobar to New Zealand from next February under the leadership of current Isobar Sydney general manager Grant Henderson.

The Isobar brand was the only one of Aegis’ relevant main network brands: Carat, Vizeum, Isobar and iProspect, that didn’t have a local presence, says New Zealand CEO Robert Harvey.

The Isobar agency will work closely with Aegis’ 80-strong team in New Zealand and with Isobar’s Sydney office, where it has a couple of hundred people, Harvey says.

The local introduction of the brand was partly driven by demand from clients like Holden and Jetstar that have businesses on both sides of the Tasman, he adds.

“We increasingly see the need for digital creative services for the group in New Zealand,” says Harvey. “We have clients that exist in both markets that would benefit from having the Isobar brand on the ground here.”

Aegis has a small amount of digital creative resource in New Zealand, but intends to grow that team under Henderson’s leadership.

It will work with him when he comes to New Zealand in January to work out how many people it will hire and in which roles, says Harvey.

Henderson is a Kiwi who has been with Isobar for six year. He was its creative director before becoming general manager in 2011. Prior to Isobar he worked for the Euro agency in Australia.
