The party may be over. But, as expected, there are plenty of sponsors trying to bask in the reflected glow of the All Blacks Rugby World Cup victory, including Adidas with its new ‘all ours, again’ spot. Much of it is footage from the previous ‘all in‘ ad made by Film Construction that ran before the RWC and shrewd observers among you might notice there’s actually no footage of the All Blacks in action during the tournament or of the William Webb Ellis trophy during the victory parade. Thems the rules, of course. Pay up or there’s no soup for you, says the IRB.
Conversely, Coca-Cola is a sponsor of both the All Blacks and the Rugby World Cup, so it’s already launched a TVC about the victory-giving properties of Powerade featuring Richie McCaw walking off the field with his two babies: a bottle of blue elixir and the trophy.
Youtube VideoThe ‘all in’ campaign didn’t get off to a particularly good start with the hubbub over the jersey prices, which is a shame really, because it took the gloss off a good campaign from the TBWA\ gang (special mention goes to the cool building projection for Stand in Black that took place in October).
Wonder how long it’ll be before we see someone doing this kind of projection in New Zealand?
