MySpace Music launches in NZ

my space logoNZ and Australia are the first territories outside the US to launch the MySpace Music platform. Now you have access to a mega-catalogue of fully licensed audio tracks and all the associated features such as playlisting, activity feeds, ringtones and access to iTunes.

As well as music from major labels EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner, MySpace Music offers catalogues from independent players The Orchard and IODA.

New Zealand’s inaugural sponsors are Coca-Cola and KFC. In November Coca-Cola will launch a MySpace brand community (www.myspace.com/cokenz) where users can create, view and share their favourite summer playlists, view beach party footage and win exclusive prizes, such as signed merchandise and concert tickets.

As KFC’s first ever online sponsorship venture, MySpace will create a new branded community called MySpace Music Real Bitz presented by KFC Krushers (www.myspace.com/realbitz). The community will act as a hub for premium video content and will showcase short interviews with artists backstage at major music events across New Zealand and Australia.

MySpace Music was launched in the US in September 2008. Around 20 million people visited the site during September 2009 (according to comScore). There are more than five million major, indie and unsigned artist profiles on the site.
