Independent media agency Together is expanding its Auckland planning team with the appointment of four senior hires.

Jess May joins as client principal, arriving from Mindshare UK, where she headed communications planning for blue-chip clients including KFC and PayPal.
“Starting this new chapter of my career in a new country, market, and agency is incredibly exciting. I’ve really loved getting stuck into the impressive work Together is doing for its clients and am enjoying working with and helping to lead such a talented and fun team,” says May.
Annie Shearer joins as group planning director, bringing strategic expertise from EssenceMediacom UK, where she served as head of video planning, following senior planning stints at Essence UK and Wavemaker.

World-class international experience
“This is a really significant moment for Together,” says Pen Brown, who is managing director media – Auckland. “Four senior planning hires at once is a statement, but it’s not an accident. We’ve been building deliberately and the calibre of people choosing to join us right now reflects the momentum the agency has.
“What excites me most is the mix. We’ve got world-class international experience coming in alongside deep local knowledge, and that combination is going to be transformative for our clients.”
“The impact Jess is already having on our clients is fabulous”, says Brown. “Jess was instrumental in taking one of our biggest launches to market this year, Goodman Fielders ‘Fantasy Herd’. Her strategic insight, creativity in planning and robust view on what success looks drove a fantastic buzz through the agency and we very proud of that work, with many more great things in the pipeline in coming months”.
The expansion of the Auckland planning team follows the recent appointment of Josh Hogg as general manager – strategy.
