MediaWorks CEO Cam Wallace to step down

Cam Wallace, MediaWorks CEO, has announced he is stepping down from the position after two years, and will start an undisclosed new role in the middle of the year.

Wendy Palmer has been appointed as interim CEO. Palmer is an experienced media industry leader with 25 years of deep and relevant experience and relationships that will be invaluable to the MediaWorks business as it continues to focus on its near and long term strategic objectives. She will support the Board to identify a new permanent CEO in the coming months, the process for which has already commenced.

Wallace’s resignation comes after the announcement in January that up to 90 jobs at MediaWorks could be axed. These included a number of vacant roles.

MediaWorks Chair Wayne Stevenson thanked Wallace for his contribution in leading the MediaWorks team to navigate the pandemic and supporting the business’s efforts to drive cultural change.

In a release, MediaWorks says it “remains focused on its growth strategy, including continued investment in its Out of Home, digital and audio portfolios, positioning the business for a resilient and diversified future”.

The broadcaster operates TodayFM talk radio, as well as More FM, the Edge, the Breeze, Mai FM and the Rock.
