Oppo NZ and Junior Films unveil ‘myth-defying zoom’ in Find X9 campaign

Following the launch of the new Oppo Find X9 Series smartphones, Junior Films has unveiled a campaign for OPPO New Zealand.

Powered by the Find X9 Series’ next-generation Hasselblad Master Camera System, the campaign brings its most advanced mobile camera to life – capturing long-debated phenomena in stunning 4K with “myth-defying zoom”.

Explore the unknown

Eduardo Sampaio, marketing manager, Oppo New Zealand, says this campaign reflects Oppo’s creativity and courage to explore the unknown.

“The Find X9 Series takes mobile photography into an entirely new dimension, and partnering again with Junior Films felt natural,” he says.

“Their storytelling mirrors our ambition and adventurous spirit.”

In a mobile market long ruled by two giants, Oppo continues to carve out its space in New Zealand.

Junior Films CEO and creative director Ryan Allen says the Find X9 launch was the perfect excuse to chase something ridiculous yet extraordinary.

“Oppo’s a challenger brand, so we matched that energy with bold, local creativity – using humour, character and cultural familiarity to connect Oppo with everyday Kiwi life in a way that feels authentic and homegrown.”

Sampaio adds: “We know our Kiwi audience. We’re local, we look after them – and Junior Films helps us meet them where they are in a genuine and entertaining way.”

Shot in Martinborough, the campaign’s two short films follow a couple’s encounters with unexpected guests. Starring Kiwi favourite James Rolleston (Boy, The Rehearsal), his signature charm and comedic timing bring a distinctly local personality to the supernatural.

The campaign is running across social and digital platforms through organic and paid advertising.
