Ads of the week: 28 August

Who’s it for: Sunergise by Colenso BBDO and Assembly

Why we like it: A solar energy provider using solar energy to make an ad? Even though it’s not obvious from the ad itself, we like this concept by the Assembly and Colenso teams, which mixes innovation and sustainability. The cute bumble bee and peppy music is also a plus to draw the audience into the story. 

Who’s it for: Oceania Healthcare by Rainger & Rolfe

Why we like it: A bit of a tear-jerker, this ad illustrates the love of, and power of, music. The old man, who is possibly suffering from dementia, is uplifted by the song that is played through the headphones. It takes him back in time, and all can relate to being transported to another time through music. As the ad follows on from the story of Mary and the kitten, Oceania Healthcare is onto to a heart-warming theme.

Who’s it for: Seed Force by Tracta and Kaleidoscope

Why we like it: Watch out for the falling carrot missiles. With a set up like a patriotic war-time film, highlighting the ability of Seed Force to “secure victory”, it’s good to see a different approach to selling product. We enjoyed the nostalgic references, the puns and the delightful illustrations.
