Year in Review: Ben Crawford, Libby & Ben The Creative Agency

Every year, StopPress asks players in the local industry for their reflections on the marketing year that was. Here’s what the strategy and planning director at Libby & Ben – The Creative Agency, Ben Crawford, thought about 2015.

1. Favourite local campaign that isn’t yours

Vodafone/FCB and Piggy Sue.

As well as Kiwibank/Assignment’s Independance – particularly liked how it spanned all divisions of the business.

2. Favourite campaign that is yours

Pretty fond of the #KiwisCureBatten digital work we did for Cure Kids earlier in the year, as well as the brand work we have just released for the Arts Centre in Christchurch.

3. Favourite international campaign

The GEIKO unskippable work is brilliant.

4. Least favourite campaign

I voluntarily have Snoopy’s Christmas on loop. Nothing gets me too irritated.

5. Your own biggest success

Three and a half years in business and still growing like crazy.

6. Favourite magazine/website/TV show/radio show/podcast/news service/app/song/other

TV Show – Grand Designs NZ.

Radio Show – Radio Sport cricket commentary. Beach, beers and cicadas. Yesssss.

App – Powershop and Uber.

7. Most ridiculous buzzword

Moving forward – a serial offender.

8. Best innovation

Rocket Lab. Who doesn’t want to send their own satellite into orbit?

9. Most over-hyped ‘innovation’

Glide Boards. Why?

10. Best brands

Lewis Road Creamery.

Air New Zealand

Kiwibank

Almost every craft beer, in particular Garage Project and Tuatara.

11. Best stoush of the year

Ronda Rousey v Holly Holm. Bring on the re-match.
