JCDecaux launches Smartframe in New Plymouth CBD

JCDecaux has launched a new Smartframe in New Plymouth. It will be the company’s first digital large-format site in the city centre.

Exclusive to JCDecaux, Smartframe is seven times larger than traditional street furniture and elevated above street level. The addition brings the national Smartframe network to 47 digital sites.

Phil Eastwood, JCDecaux NZ general manager, says: “New Plymouth is one of New Zealand’s most attractive regional centres, with strong population growth, a diversified local economy and an enviable lifestyle.

“Our first central Smartframe here gives brands a premium, digital canvas to reach valuable audiences as they move through the city each day. It’s another step in making high-impact digital out of home more accessible in regional hubs that matter to our customers.”

Extended storytelling, stronger impact

Situated on Devon Street East in New Plymouth, the Smartframe sits on a key route into the CBD and intercepts steady commuter and shopper traffic. This elevated position and clear corridor of visibility create a high attention environment for extended brand storytelling and stronger campaign impact, says JCDecaux.

The New Plymouth launch builds on the agency’s ongoing expansion of Smartframe. Earlier this year, new Smartframe sites went live in Upper Hutt, Hastings and Mt Maunganui, with Whangārei to follow.

With an aspect ratio aligned to mobile and social media content, Smartframe allows existing digital assets to be repurposed more easily, helping marketers run integrated campaigns across online and out of home. The network delivers a net reach of more than 600,000 people over a standard two-week period, says Eastwood.
