Spark and Bastion launch new SME platform

Spark and Bastion Aotearoa have developed a new SME-focused brand platform built on the insight that it takes a team to run a small business.

The ‘Best bench in business’ platform highlights how Spark supports New Zealand business owners, not just with leading mobile connectivity, but with the experts, tools and partnerships they need to grow.

SMEs represent 97% of all businesses in New Zealand, yet many are under pressure, having reduced staff and cut costs through a prolonged period of economic uncertainty.

You’re not alone

Spark consumer and SME marketing lead Graham Wright says research that informed the platform found small business decision-makers are looking for practical support from providers who genuinely understand their challenges.

“A lot of small business owners feel like they’re doing it on their own. With Spark, you’re never alone.

“Whether that’s through our network, our local Business Hubs or the expertise of our global and local partners, we can provide a bench of skills, expertise and partnerships our customers can draw on when they need it.”

Tangible support

Spark’s partnerships with Icehouse, Cisco and Microsoft extend that ecosystem further, connecting customers with tools and expertise designed to help their business grow.

Oli Green, chief creative officer from Bastion Aotearoa says that the team wanted to make the support for SMEs feel tangible.

“The bench is a concept that business owners will understand because everyone wants the right people available when they need it.”

The platform replaces a series of tactical quarterly campaigns, establishing a consistent brand foundation for awareness and consideration, supported by product and offer-led activity throughout the year.
