Although diversity and inclusion will always need to be improved, there is plenty of our industry to be proud of. The Faces of our Industry aims to flip the conversation on its head, and celebrate the amazing individuals we have in our sector.

This episode we chat to Raymond Otene McKay, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of RUN, a Māori-owned, globally-awarded, advertising and design agency. As a consultancy, Raise is mindful of the challenges faced by communities and believes in a collective responsibility to take action.

McKay is Waikato, Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Awa and was named as one of Campaign Asia Pacific’s 40 Under 40.

McKay has worked at the highest level of advertising. He is one of the few Māori Creative Directors in the advertising industry in the world, giving him a unique cultural viewpoint in the ever-changing Aotearoa landscape. He holds a Bachelor of Communications Studies and has worked at Saatchi and Saatchi, Colenso, TBWA Whybin, Lowe, Draft FCB, DDB and 99, working for well-known national and international brands. Experienced in a variety of categories and disciplines, McKay thrives on any creative challenge. Exposure to all facets of advertising has enabled him to effectively navigate the gap between traditional and digital communications.
