Tipp-Ex and BIC find help to fix Pharrell Williams’ book

Tipp-Ex is a slightly surprising brand to be renowned as a social innovator, but its previous interactive YouTube videos about bear hunting and birthday parties have cemented that position. Now it’s tapped into the ‘wisdom’ of the crowd once again (along with BIC) and convinced them to help rewrite Pharrell Williams’ book Inspiration

As it explains on the site, which was created by Buzzman Paris and We are Anonymous: “The Hunter and the Bear were supposed to protect Pharrell Williams’ book before its launch. Unfortunately, they covered it with Tipp-ex Mini Pocket Mouse. Join a worldwide community by rewriting it, in real time. All you have to do is guess the erased words. To help you, we have made the Social Book an experience available in 5 languages: English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. When the book is completed, thanks to you guys, it will be published and sold. The revenues will go to ‘From One Hand to Another’, a not for profit foundation established by Pharrell Williams to implement learning programs for underprivileged kids. On completion, a free digital version will also be available for you to download. With each download, BIC will donate €1 to ‘From One Hand to Another’ within the limit of 10,000 downloads.”

So head to the website and get it. Or watch Weird Al Yankovich’s parody of Williams’ mega-hit Happy instead.
