PHD and DDB among world’s best on WARC Media 100

The WARC Media 100 has been released, recognising the most-awarded agencies in the world. Representing New Zealand on the list are PHD Auckland and DDB Auckland, ranked 8th and 19th respectively.

PHD New Zealand chief executive officer Nikki Grafton says the recognition is a testament to the agency’s challenger approach and ethos of finding a better way for clients.

“We are fortunate to have a world-class team with amazing creativity and innovation, technical skill, strategic smarts, talent and work ethic at PHD New Zealand – I couldn’t be prouder.”

As well as the top agencies, the WARC Media 100 also has a top campaigns list, on which New Zealand is recognised five times.

Beer Bottle Sand’ for DB Export by PHD Auckland is the top-ranked campaign for New Zealand, appearing on the list in 5th place.

It’s followed by ‘Spark Santaline – one phone call, two magical Christmases’ for Spark by PHD Auckland in 30th place, and ‘Re:scam’ for Netsafe by DDB Auckland in 33rd place.

Further down the list, Y&R Auckland gets a shout out for the Arnott’s ‘Apocalypse Steve Hansen’ campaign that comes in 56th, while DDB rounds out the New Zealand mentions with ‘Fight for Territory’ for Steinlager in 57th place.

Last week, the WARC Creative 100 and WARC Effective 100 were released, that showed New Zealand performing well on the global stage, with Colenso BBDO was awarded the ranking of 3rd most effective and 8th most creative agency in the world.

Meanwhile, Special Group was ranked the 45th most effective agency in the world. It was also among the top most effective independent agencies in the world.
