Ogilvy Media wins event work for Auckland Transport

Ogilvy Media is the latest agency to win work for the Auckland Council Group (Auckland Transport, ATEED and Auckland Council), after being appointed to a panel of creative providers earlier this year.

The arrangement, which includes 99/OMD (Clemenger Group), Federation, MBM and Ogilvy & Mather on the panel, states that the agencies are required to pitch for projects with a budget over $200,000 and the latest project, for Auckland Transport’s special event media activity, has been awarded to Ogilvy Media.

This follows Clemenger Group’s win of a project in August, which will see 99 serve as the lead agency supported by its partners in the group.

The media-only pitch for the Auckland Transport’s event work occurred late August and encompassed communication around public transport options for events such as large sporting games, concerts and family events like Christmas in the park.

Ogilvy head of media Rachel Anderson-Cormack says the work is already underway and the agency is really enjoying working with the Auckland Transport team to optimise their media presence in market.

“We took a two-fold approach to this brief, firstly we grounded our response in consumer insight that highlighted areas to improve connections. Secondly, we delivered more value through a partnership model. We’ve been doing a lot of work internally to ensure we have a best in market media team and this is recognition that it’s paying off.”
