It has been announced that publication North & South will be returning to our market, this time run by independent owners Verena Friederike Hasel and Konstantin Richter.
Following the news that Mercury Capitals purchase of Bauer was finalised today, it was stated although most publications will be run by the Australian arm, some are still waiting independent sale.
One such was North & South which now has confirmed the independent sale to Verena Friederike Hasel and Konstantin Richter.
Verena and Konstantin are certain that North & South will thrive as an independent business and maintain its readership of 200,000.
“There is a great need for the kind of journalism North & South does, maybe now more than ever”, says Verena. “In uncertain times like these, people need a compass and a trusted companion. And that’s exactly what North & South can provide.”
Konstantin adds that North & South’s brand of journalism is unique in New Zealand.
“We absolutely identify with what North & South stands for”, he says. “Long-form journalism. Investigative reporting. Plus a keen eye for the extraordinary stories that can be found in everyday life.”
Verena and Konstantin will be working hard to bring back North & South as soon as possible.
