Nike crowns Roger Federer king of the court

In the wake of Roger Federer’s eighth Wimbledon title win, Nike has named him the King of the court in a new ‘RO8ER’ video.

Begining with slow motion shots of Federer preparing for a game before moving into a montage of him playing, the images are overlayed with text reading, “If you are not here to cut the grass, get off my lawn”, to demonstrate how Federer owns the court.

The sports brand is celebrating further with a special Federer commemorative t-shirt, fittingly in white for Wimbledon.

The ‘RO8ER’ spot follows an earlier video called ‘The Roger Effect’, featuring Federer dressed head to toe in Nike while playing. Each time he scores a point, the crowd strips their outer-layers to reveal Nike clothes beneath and by the end of the match, which Federer wins of course, the crowd is bursting out of the stadium to go and play tennis.
